Milestone:完成PMP课程培训

4月27号开始的PMP培训今天完成了所有课程,算是PMP培训的重要milestone。接下来有一次模拟考和workshop。

通过PMP培训认识了项目管理的9个知识领域44个程序。和中学大学的课程相比,感觉PMP的知识很实用,可以直接应用于工作生活中,像时间、成本、质量、人力资源、沟通、风险管理。我已经很迫不及待的把所学在实践中进行验证。

不过因为PMP的管理体系是针对体系较完善公司的大项目,在现实中有些项目也许连WBS(Work Breakdown Structure)都没有,那么何来的时间、成本、风险的有效控制?所以还是要有心理准备,不一定所学能尽用。

Another function of “issue log”

Do you keep a issue log on your project? “Yes, for recording the issues to be resolved.” Most would say.This function of issue log was what I used  on my previous project too.

But for PMP, the fact of knowing only the above function of issue log won’t let you answer correctly several questions during the exam. This was my experience while doing the practice exam in Communication Managment session of Rita.

Only while rereading the relevent paragraph in Human Resorce Management session, I underlined the “issue log”, which seamed such a common sense to me that I just went through without any attention the first time . 

In project management, issue log is also a tool to manage the project team and stakeholders. Read this sentence again! Issue log shall also record the requirements of stakeholders, both professional and personal level, which tells people that their needs are considered. It becomes an important tool to comfort and motivate team, specially in matrix organaztion where team members don’t report to project manager.

Keep in mind, issue log has two functions, and for PMP exam the second one is mostly tested.
